Quite often in the past I used to head to Troon for a day out and on most of those days I used to end up here.
I've often said that there are not enough of these sort of places in this area to go to for breakfast, lunch or even just a snack.
This is just a small cafe but still has plenty character left, it's good to see a place with a display of their cakes and snacks on show just to tempt you to buy.
When I'm here I like to grab a breakfast roll with a coffee, and grab a juice for my way out and the price usually comes to around the £5 mark, that's pretty good value. -

For an espresso affectionado, finding a great espresso bar in tea country should be difficult, especially in the small coastal town of Troon. Thankfully, I came across The Venice during a gale storm on Sunday morning. Here are my criterias for scoring this little espresso bar favourably:
1. Excellent beans and strong espresso
2. Fast wifi free service
3. Inspired space - windows, bar stools- great for writing
4. Young, hip and modern
5. Great menu of sandwichs, bagettes, salads

Dear Cafe Owner, if you are going to allow your teenage clientele to swear loudly in your cafe, you may wish to instruct you waiting staff not to laugh at other customers who take offence.
